1953 Motorola

This is my first television fish tank. I got the TV from a garage sale. It was a bit scratched up, but I was planning on re-finishing it anyway.

First thing to do of course was to get the "guts" out of the television. Really not much to it. TV technology back in 1953 was not too advanced.

I needed to have access to the top of the tank once it is place and so the only way to do that was to cut off the top of the TV so I could put hinges on it, and make it a flip top.

Now that it's just a shell, it's time to sand it and prepare it for staining and a clear coat of polyurathine.
Now it's all stained and ready for the tank. You can see the hinges in this pick also.
The light fixture has been attached to the TV lid, new on/off switch put on and the tank has been put in through the back of the gutted TV and put the back cover of the TV back on.
And this is the finished product.
